I definately think that you have to assess the situation before using a QR code. If your target audience doesn't know what a QR code is, or if they don't have a smartphone, then there's no point in using it. I think it's beneficial to use them when linking to websites or twitter pages when targeting people with smartphones. Also, I agree with you; it's annoying to have something to scan just to get a phone number. However, you can create a QR code that contains all of your contact information, just like a business card. I think that's pretty useful. Thanks for your thoughts, Paul. :)

I'm interested in what others think about QR codes... I personally think for most applications, it's a waste of space and time. I wouldn't want to have to scan something to get the phone number.

However, maybe it's a learning curve/training thing and eventually my thought on this will change. I need more opinions.

Not a bad definition. I've been trying to explain the difference between the firm and agency to a business partner of mine that just doesn't quite get it. I'll be sending him this for sure...

Thank you so much. I need to be better about posting regularly. That seems to be a common struggle. I find it especially hard to balence who gets my blog posts: my blog or my work's blog. Work has been winning out lately, but that must means I will have to produce double. :) I just never want to sacrifice quality for quantity.

Based on your link it seems you were previously a developer, and now you own your own business. Is that correct? If so, do you have a website for your business?

Best,
Rebecca

Good article and tips. Lists are a MUST! So many people just blindly follow - they don't organize so they aren't reaping the benefits of being able to pull up a list and view topical content grouped.

Thanks for sharing this Rebecca!

The funny thing is that a brand is the public's total perception of a company, organization or person. We get all caught up in what the communications/public relations/advertising industry says about branding that I think sometimes we forget a brand is like a reputation. Thanks for stopping by Peter!

I agree that online social media sites have enriched the quality of some relationships between friends, mostly friends that are long distance. I will say that people can spend too much time on sites like Facebook. And with so much of your personal information and various status updates, can be the cause of some unwanted attention.
